I have an Emergency! What do I do?

Emergencies can be things such as accidental ingestion of rat poison, hit by car, and chocolate ingestion. If you have an emergency during regular office hours please call us immediately at (250) 370-1950 so a staff member can advise you on the best course of action. If your emergency is outside of our business hours please call (250) 475-2495 or take your pet to one of the emergency clinics in town.

How do I choose the right Vet?

Choose a veterinarian who is calm, compassionate and willing to explain all the procedures your pet undergoes. Ultimately you want a vet that is qualified and that both you and your pet feel comfortable with.

What happens at an annual Checkup?

Your pet’s annual check-up entails a total physical exam. This includes a thorough investigation of your pet’s head, body and tail, assessment of the heart and lungs, an oral exam and abdominal palpation. The need for vaccination and parasite control to suit your pets lifestyle is reviewed and these treatments are given at the time if needed.

I'm new to your clinic, what about my pets past files?

If you want to come to our clinic we are happy to help you transfer your pets files from your previous care provider. Simply give us a call and we would be more than happy to facilitate the process of having a copy of your files and records emailed to our clinic so we have a complete medical history of your pet available.

I'd like to see you soon. Can you 'squeeze' me in'?

We are available for urgent care. If the situation is not life threatening but you feel your pet should be seen soon please let us know. We will do our best to ‘squeeze’ you in between scheduled appointments.

My pet dislikes going to the vet. What can I do?

Don’t worry, our clinic is very comfortable for both pets and owners alike. Our environment is calm and we have plenty of treats on hand. Many pets even enjoy coming to see our veterinarian! Occasionally, when necessary, calming medications are provided so your pet does not experience unnecessary anxiety during their visit to the vet. If you are worried about your visit please call us and let us know. We want to make your visit as comfortable as possible and will happily accommodate however we can.
